About AFDT
AFDT (Association des Fabricants de Décolletages et de Taillages) is the Swiss association representing manufacturers within the precision turned parts, gear cutting and rolling industries in French-speaking Switzerland. The association was established to protect and promote the interests of the industry and today represents approximately 90 member companies across the Swiss Jura region. AFDT works to strengthen the competitiveness and visibility of the sector through education, promotion and industry cooperation.
Mission
AFDT aims to defend and promote the interests of the precision turning and gear cutting industries in French-speaking Switzerland through:
- promotion of the industry and its professions
- vocational education and workforce development
- networking and collaboration between companies
- representation towards authorities and educational institutions
- strengthening the public recognition of precision manufacturing careers
The association supports both apprenticeships and continuing education programs to ensure that training meets the needs of industry.
Activities
AFDT carries out activities that directly benefit member companies, including:
